I’m Not Saying You’re Wrong, I’m Just Right

I don’t have a need to be right about everything. It’s just that I’m not wrong about what I feel I’m right about and it’ll take a real smart type of folk to convince me otherwise. Now, I’m not gonna sit around and argue about me being right and you being wrong ’cause you’re entitled to be wrong if that makes you feel best.

You see, I’m not into arguing a point only to arrive at where we started. That’s a pure waste of your time and mine and while you may not have places to be and folk to see…Well, I may not either (talk to the hand).  I’m just not gonna sit around and try to bully you into my way of thinking, although that would be best ’cause it sure as heck’s been working for me…Most of the time…Some of the time…Well, I reckon we could both do better but seeing that I’m doing better than you, you should pay more attention to what I say, as opposed to what I do ’cause in theory, I do everything right. It’s the hands-on stuff that gets messed up but this is about you, not me, so stay focused.

The essence of what I’m getting at is just ’cause you think something, don’t mean you should believe it. Your world will be a better place once you start believing that.

  1. I’m generally not one to comment on the content of art, but Totsy, I think Nancy’s mouth is a whole lot bigger than the way you portrayed her up there. In fact, I don’t think there is much more to Nancy Grace than mouth. Surely there is no brain.

    • Gee…I am pretty satisfied with being me than her. She can be a real bulldog but she’s not altogether bad. I mean, she’s a strong advocate for children, so I love that about her. I don’t follow her on a regular basis but I know enough to know her strong personality.

          • You’re welcome missy. As for the LaFemmeroar and I apparently we both woke up on the wrong side of the gender yesterday morning.

            I’m better now. Well maybe not, I haven’t taken my meds yet this morning, but I will be shortly. Anyways bloggers provide me with copious fodder in my quest to voyeuristically observe the human condition; in all its masticated and spit back out glory.

            The human condition seen thru every angle of the prism. Although unlike the myriad of colors one sees thru a true prism are spectacular and beautiful, this prism at times yields poisonous barbs of ugliness, that in itself takes many forms.

            but I digress.

            Your blog is delightful, refreshing, appreciatively unapologetic and wholly Totsy Mae.

            To reiterate: don’t ever change. “Nosce Te Ipsum”

    Love this. It’s okay to be passionate about what/how we feel. And yet, leave room for the idea that everyone in the Universe doens’t have to accept that and proclaim our Rightness about everything. Ya know?

  6. you did a great job with Nancy Grace. I love her image associated with this post as well. Sometimes I think it would get really boring to be right all the time. But then it’s so seldom that I am wrong, or rather “mistaken”……….

  8. It’s funny because I really like to discuss different views. I try to understand where the oposing view comes from. People may not change my mind about my own points of reference, but I do try to keep an open mind. So many things are not really black and white.

    • We have to hear different views or we’d talk ourselves into anything but we all know some folk ain’t worth listening to. I don’t know where some of them get their information.

    • Yeah, she is a piece of work and a half. She seems passionate about everything she says. I do wonder if there is a stronger need in her to be right in her arguments. Though she is a lawyer and if I ever ran into trouble, I’d much rather have her on my side than the opposite.

  11. I wasn’t expecting NG when I read the headline to your post. You’ve captured her perfectly – both the image and your portrayal. She’s a mouth all right but as others have said, her heart’s in the right place. If more people were this passionate about their jobs, the world would be a much better place, I think.

  12. Your portrait of Nancy Grace is way too flattering. I love it. Could tell who it was before I read a word. But way too flattering…You know how nice people look prettier than maybe they are and mean people look uglier than maybe they are? That’s how I feel about Nancy. She preys on people’s fears and she sure does conjecture a lot, but people hear her questions as facts. That’s just wrong…

  13. Agree with Lorna, way too flattering, lol. Why do they still let such talk trash on the tv to influence others who just don’t know any better… No wonder Mother Earth is shaking her head and crying so often these days. Oy. Nice post and painting, my friend.

    • Thank you. I’m just gonna focus on the good she has and continues to do. Though, I don’t watch her show so I don’t know what she’s saying these days. I sure hope she doesn’t stumble on this blog and find I’ve posted her. Yet, I think she has to know she’s a caricature of sorts.
