No Cure for What Ails You

Seems like every time I visit this blog to say something, I’m trying to explain why I haven’t been around. While you may wanna know, and I know you’d love to be in my business and whatnot, I’m afraid to tell you there’s nothing to tell you that you’d be all that interested in. Truth be told to the third power, I ain’t all that interested in what’s going on with me either.

I’ve been so tired and as we speak, I’m suffering a cough that’d make you kick your mama and sock your daddy in the right eye. Should you actually go off and do a fool-crazy thing as that, send me a video, folks. I do have rare occasions to watch foolishness. While it may be an unhealthy break from reality, any kinda break is alright with me. Okay?

Let me also add that I’ve been trying to get to this blog but I got real side-tracked. The fact of the matter is I don’t know what’s come over me. I don’t. I went to the pharmacy to get this issue medicated but there’s no cure for not knowing how to find your blog. Neither is there a pill, patch or shot for coming up with what to say on the blog once you get there. I was like, Lordy mercy, whatever is a discombobulated southern belle to do? The answer never did come to me, so I decided to take a nap, folks. You know, sometimes, you think better when you’re sleeping…yelling at your neighbors from your front porch…eating syrup sammitches or fish and grits for breakfast…plucking a chicken…You know, it’s a southern thing. I hope you understand.

  1. Girlfriend, I am so right there with you, except for the cough and I’m not doing that right now. My get up and go just got up and went. I got nothin. I got nothin. Try as I might, I have run out of words to write. My mojo is gone and I don’t know if I can get it back. I sort of went from posting 2 times a week, to once a week to once in a blue moon. I don’t know how to get it back either. Maybe it’s like that no-count ex husband, gone for good. Who knows?

What is up with you? Please tell me because maybe I’ve got the same thing, (just the Northern variety).

  2. It’s a Southern as well as an East Coast thing. It’s good to see you when I see you. I find that when you’re writing, away from your blog, that takes real time. I enjoy writing on my blog, but know that I need to tend to the other writing even more. I no longer explain my absences. I write, read, comment as I’m inspired. Take care of you, Tots!

    • East Coast folk eat fish and grits too? Well, I’ll be a southern belle with my head turned backwards. I never knew…Hope your writing’s going well. I’ve been working and trying to write when I can, so the blog isn’t the priority. I may try to do better; at least post once a week. Maybe.

  3. My friend, what ever keeps you away should be taken care of you are sorely missed. I would rather though, you take care of yourself, sit wherever you need to sit for as long as you need to sit and take care of yourself. If you need me to send you virtual chicken soup, I will if it makes you feel better. If you need company on your front porch, I make a mean Moscow Mule and it seems I have a great deal of time on my hands.

  4. Totsy, no matter what you write about, your voice shines through and you make it all sound so funny. Girl, I was laughing along with you. My favorite line: “I’ve been so tired and as we speak, I’m suffering a cough that’d make you kick your mama and sock your daddy in the right eye.” Brilliant and totally homespun!
