I can’t tell you how ecstatic I am that Friday’s here. I hope the weekend draaaaags by. I’m serious. I stopped by Aldi’s to buy a weekend snack of Tortillas and French Onion Yogurt Dip. I’m not having any mercy on these chips and dip either, okay? I worked hard and hey, this is my treat to myself. Plus, as I speak, there’s a low rumble of thunder outside and I’m gonna tuck myself under this afghan I made and do whatever I feel like. Well, I can’t do but so much sitting down and under a blanket but I’m okay with that.

Too, I’ve bought a few graphic novels to chill out with. I’m gonna draw, sleep, watch TV and enjoy the rain, if it does that. I must also tell you folks, I’m not making too many moves on account of this morning, I caught a back cramp. I know. How do bad things happen to good folk like me and you. You and I. Whatever. This is not an English class. Well, everybody gets an unfortunate chance in life and I have to say, this cramp thing is one of mine.

All I was doing was walking over to turn off the lamp this morning so I could go work that job. You know, the one I get paid for. Well, I stopped dead in my tracks and eventually made it to the switch, out the door to the little vehicle I drive all of 12 minutes to get to that there job and walked around all day like a piece of cardboard. I had to plan how to use the restroom, how to bend over to pick up dropped stuff and all these other inconvenient thoughts on account of this back thing. I was too scared to sneeze even.

Anyhow, I made out okay. The chips and dip’s gonna make me feel better.

  1. That painting is just beautiful.

Sorry about the back cramp. I hate those! Sometimes a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water helps. I’m not sure exactly why, something to do with vinegar sending potassium to your muscles and stopping them from cramping.

  2. I concur with everyone- your painting is gorgeous!!! I love it!
I’m sorry about your back cramp… you absolutely must rest. Doctor’s orders. (I’m not a doctor but I do give orders.)
Take care of yourself and enjoy your weekend.

    • Thank you.
I’m gonna follow your orders , being that I like giving them on occasion myself. While I like lying on my backside, this is not one of those enjoyable moments. Pain is stressful and this is supposed to be my relaxation time.

I’ve only started reading Shortcomings. All the books had these great reviews and all, so…Had to see if they were really all that.

      • I’ve not heard of the first two titles so I’m definitely gonna Google them. That last one? I love it. Adrian Tomine is one of my favourite comics artists in the history of everything! You have exceptional taste!

    • Thanks. For a minute, I wasn’t so sure how I felt about that watercolor but I’m glad you guys like it.

Reading and doing those low key activities is a good place to be, actually. Other than the back cramp, it’s all good.

  3. Totsy. I hope you’re feeling better. I have a Friday achy breaky story myself. I slipped going to the restroom at work on Friday, er, yesterday and hit my nose on the arm rest of my wheelchair. Luckily I didn’t fall out of my wheelchair. Now my nose is all achy.

Your watercolors have inspired me since I first found you by the way. I’ve been painting with watercolor for a few months now and I’m in love with it. 🙂

    • Well, I’m might glad can inspire your creative juices in some way. That makes my day.
Be careful. A nose ache is not cool at all. It’s too close to the eyes, for one. Sounds like it could’ve been worse but I’m it wasn’t. Whew!

  4. Chips and dip make anything better. Sorry about your back. Mine was hurting earlier this week and it’s miserable. It was all I could do to feed the dogs and put their bowls on the ground. Sigh. Love the picture! The way she’s sitting it’s clear her back doesn’t seem to hurt. Ah, youth!

    • Yes. One of my favorites. Today, my back’s feeling a lot better. Not totally back to myself but I feel outta the woods. How in the world you managed to put water on the floor for your doggies with a bad back? My, my. Yo’re a miracle worker. Youth does have its privileges.

  5. This painting is the BOMB! Love it! You and I share the “back thing”. Lordy! That is not a fun way to spend a weekend but the chips and dip will help if you can’t get morphine and opium.

    • Thank you, Linda. I’m so sorry for both of us for sharing this back issue. It’s a booger and a half. Yeah, it was all good with the chips and dip. I never felt better. Well, I have but I’ll take what I can in this case.
