A Little ‘Bout Me:
I’m a writer, reader, visual artist, graphic designer, somebody’s momma and other stuff that’s good and not so good. I’m frank but shy, sensitive, and have the dry humor of a cynic but I’m positive, empathetic, judgmental, oppositional just because and working on all of the above. I’m a southern girl who’s adaptable, welcoming, stand-offish and curious. Here, I want to share a little bit of myself without doing a reality show that nobody would have a particular interest in. Currently, I’m working on my first novel and sketches for another publication. I hope you like what I’ve come here to say and we can have interesting and engaging exchanges that will make you proud of us both.
Are you the one doing the drawings with your blog posts? They are fabulous! You have a gift. Glad to find your blog!

Doh, I feel so dumb, didn’t realize I could leave a comment here! Well OK, I’ll say it again:
Nice artwork! Really nice artwork in fact.
I think I’ll hang around and read some more too. The writing is fresh and different from most. Write on Totsymae, write on…

What kind of sketches do you do?

Watercolor/Ink lately. Most of my work has been acrylic paintings or mixed media.
Love the concept of cartoons on your site. I’ve been working on a few but it’s taking
me forever. :-0

For cartoons I like the simple line drawing as the gag is mainly in the text. Go to New Yorker site and see cartoon bank to see styles and humor ideas. They have
the best in the business and even their rejection bank contains the most amazing stuff. Water colors are the hardest I think because it takes so much planning as you have no white paint and can’t cover mistakes. My painting ability has evaporated but now and then I do a train scene on big two handled saws(a tradition in USA Northwest) and do Caribbean scenes on the paddle part of oars, a Key Westy kinda thing.

Just wondering, Totsymae, when you say you ‘composed’ the painting, what do you mean? Is it just another word for ‘painted’ ?

I’m sorry but yes, the meaning is the same. I painted her.
